The edu.lab is a new multifunctional media room at the Jakob-Fugger-Gymnasium Augsburg in which we combine modern IT and media infrastructure to enable modern forms of instruction in the age of digitalization. When furnishing the room, different room concepts were integrated and the different equipment scenarios of the Future Classroom Lab were considered in the hardware configuration.
A multifunctional room and seating concept for the edu.lab was also developed, which i.a. foldable roller tables, which ensure a flexible use of the space. Movable stools allow “moving sitting” and a high bench seating group, allow “arena feeling” during presentations.
For the future, it is planned to adapt teaching scenarios to the respective media in cooperation with the University of Augsburg, to involve them in different lesson scenarios, to test them and possibly to multiply them in teacher training and of course to develop and test the different parts of the school’s own media curriculum.
